Chocolate Love Bar

Chocolate Love Bar Chocolate Love Bar

I got my first order from Jess’s new online shop Total Raw Food today. I got some Lucuma powder for experimenting with my own chocolate recipes and I got a Chocolate Love Bar to see how the pros do it! As with anything like this, I couldn’t resist opening it straight away so I had chocolate for breakfast. It’s delicious, a bit sweeter than some of the other raw chocolates which is what I like.

We’ve just started selling some other chocolates by Jess, it’s a gift wrapped pack of 15 chocolates. Edit: we’ve got some Love Bars in the Funky Raw shop now…

White Chocolate Pudding

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you may know that I have chocolate pudding for breakfast everyday. Well, today I fancied a change and made white chocolate pudding.

The following ingredients are soaked overnight:

  • 1 cup hemp seeds
  • half a cup mixture of walnuts, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds
  • handful of goji berries, handful of currents, 2 dried figs, 2 dried apricots

The rest of the ingredients:

First, drain and rinse the hemp seeds and then blend with the soak water from the dried fruit and a bit more water. Strain through a muslin bag or cheesecloth to make hemp milk. Then put all the rest of the ingredients in the blender (drain and rinse the nuts and seeds first) along with the hemp milk and blend until smooth. I usually stir in a tablespoon of flax oil for my omega 3’s before serving. Mmm, delicious.

Raw Magic Cafe Opening Party

I went to Brighton yesterday for the opening party of Kate Wood’s new cafĂ© “Raw Magic“. It’s in a great location in the Indoor Market on Ship Street.

Many people turned up to celebrate including Shazzie and David Wolfe.

Shazzie eating her lunch!

As was to be expected, the food was delicious. First were a few finger foods, the nori rolls were amazing! Then the main course - spaghetti (made from courgette) and pasta sauce, “meat balls”, flax crackers and salad, all up to the usual high standard. Then David Wolfe gave a motivating talk on restoring paradise on earth. He put into words a lot of what I believe. A great quote he recited is “where the attention goes, the energy flows”, we need to keep focussed on the positive.

He talked about how the sea contains every mineral in existance and how to make use of that by watering our plants (particularly food such as wheatgrass) with sea water diluted with 10 parts rainwater or distilled water. He continued that plants that have all minerals available to them can deal with any pest or disease.

Desert was tiramisu or apple pie, I had the tiramisu which was delicious but Jess let me taste her apple pie and that was also amazing.

The Menu

As we were leaving, Kate gave us all one of her new chocolate bars “Be The Change“. They’ve got crystal mana and etherium gold in them and we’ll be selling them very soon in the Funky Raw shop… (Edit: We have them in stock now… raw chocolate bars in the Funky Raw shop)

Brockley Nature Reserve

There is a nature reserve just round the corner from where I live but it is permenantly closed. Well, until today, when it was open for a couple of hours in the afternoon, so I jumped at the chance to go and have a look. Here are a few photos, click to enlarge:
